No more unscheduled interruptions from the OS. The System Optomizer extreme priority setting pretty much takes over the machine dedicating the majority of resources to processing music and gives individual choices to disable Spotlight, Time Machine and detection of iDevices on USB or not. Audirvana runs without invention until I need to update it or manage my library. This was usually something in the OS requiring attention even though nothing else was ever running. iTunes would run for days or even weeks, but all to often it would require intervention necessitating removal of the mini from the system and hooking up the periphery a real PITA. I couldn't get DaPhile to work at all and Volumio seldom would load up and run from the start menu. By headless I mean no monitor, mouse or keyboard after setup and installing in my system.
I've been using an old mini running El Capitan 100% dedicated to audio since 2008 as well.
